 Mrs. Alyece Averbeck
Elementary Teacher, Spanish

Alyece Averbeck is a graduate of West Coast Baptist College with a degree in Secondary Education. She has been teaching at Harvest Baptist Academy since 2010.

Alyece teaches Elementary Spanish as well as several high school classes at the Academy.

Alyece volunteers in the church nursery, participates in the choir, and is involved in our church's special music program.

Mr. David Averbeck
Music Teacher

David Averbeck teaches Elementary Music to students in K4 through 6th grade. He also teaches senior high music theory and conducts the handbells choir and middle school and senior high choirs.

David is our Fine Arts Coordinator and also serves as the Music Director for our elementary and senior high plays. He came to Harvest from West Coast Baptist College and serves as our church's Music Director. He also conducts our church choir. A gifted musician and composer, David writes many of the choir and orchestra pieces which are performed.

Mrs. Tammy Buhr

6th Grade Teacher

Tammy Buhr currently teaches 6th grade and Bible class for 6th - 8th grade at Harvest Baptist Academy. Teaching in Christian schools and pre-schools since 1982, her credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Education from Geneva College.

Tammy is a faithful nursery worker and also assists her husband Phil in leading our Expectations (young couples) Sunday School class. You might meet Tammy at our Welcome Desk just inside our church's entrance, where she often greets and assists people on Sunday mornings.

Mrs. Stacy Fajbik
5th Grade Teacher

Stacy Fajbik began teaching at Harvest Baptist Academy in 2005. A Bible College graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Stacy currently teaches our 5th grade class.

Stacy is an integral member of Harvest working in our nursery, singing in the Choir, performing in special music ensembles, the church orchestra, and the hand bell choir. She is also a worker in our Wednesday night Youth Connection program.

Mrs. Jacklyn Gunner
 Mrs. Jacklyn Gunner
1st Grade Teacher

Jacklyn Gunner came to Harvest Baptist Academy in 2007. A graduate of West Coast Baptist College with a degree in Elementary Education, she has brought much energy and enthusiasm with her into the classroom. She teaches our 1st grade class and also teaches some 2nd grade classes in the afternoon.

Jacklyn assists her husband (Pastor Sam Gunner) with many of the ministries (nursery, ladies Bible study, etc.) at City Baptist Church in McKeesport where he pastors.

Miss Emma Kile
3rd Grade Teacher

Emma Kile is a recent graduate of Clearwater Christian College where she received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Emma teaches the 3rd grade class and also serves as the girls' physical education teacher and volleyball coach.

2nd Grade Teacher

Brittany Mechling is a Bible College graduate. Receiving a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, she joined our staff in 2011.

Brittany teaches the 2nd grade class as well as some K5 classes. She is a volunteer in the church nursery and helps to teach the 3-5 year old boys and girls' Sunday School class.

Mrs. Crystal Messenger
Kindergarten Teacher

Crystal Messenger has taught at Harvest Baptist Academy since its inception in 1996. Attending both Fairhaven Baptist College and Massillon Baptist College, her desire has always been to teach little ones. Our Kindergarten schedule is 8:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. daily.

Crystal also assists in Junior Church and and in our church nursery.

Mrs. Mindy Rousey

4th Grade Teacher

Mindy Rousey teaches our 4th grade class as well as some 3rd grade classes in the afternoon. Graduating from Bible College in 1991, she attained a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Mindy is the wife of Pastor Charlie Rousey, who is the Administrator of Harvest Baptist Academy. A gifted musician, Mindy is involved in special music, teaches piano lessons, and is the church choir's pianist.

Mr. Tommy Thorogood
Elementary Teacher, English & Physical Education

Tommy Thorogood is a new addition to Harvest Baptist Academy. A West Coast Baptist College graduate with a degree in Religious Education, Tommy teaches our 6th grade English class and the boys' physical education classes. Additionally, Tommy teaches our 9th grade Bible class.

Tommy serves as the high school football coach, assistant basketball coach, and is the junior varsity basketball coach. He is a member of our church choir and the leader for the 5th - 6th grade classes in our Wednesday night Youth Connection. Tommy also teaches the junior high Sunday School class.
